BIGSOUND: Rebel With A Cause: In Conversation with Darcus Beese

Described as "one of the great A&R people of his or any other generation" by Music Week, Darcus Beese OBE's contribution to current music culture is immeasurable.

Responsible for the signing of Amy Winehouse during his tenure at Island Records UK - where he was the first Black President for a UK major label - Beese has since gone on to lead Island Records US (overseeing the signing of current reigning pop superstar Sabrina Carpenter) and now his own independent outlet, Darco Artist Partnerships (DAP).

Earlier this year, Beese released his memoir, Rebel With A Cause, detailing his life working with artists like U2, Florence And The Machine and more, and how growing up the child of activist parents - The Mangrove Nine's Darcus Howe and Barbara Beese - has shaped his life and work.

He joins BIGSOUND for this special In Conversation event with music journalist Tanya Bunter.
